Dear political media: Don’t be fooled by DeSantis’ “hero of the hurricane” narrative [1]

This will probably be short, I am on my phone.



I am sitting here watching DeSantis sounding actually quite normal as a politician talking about Hurricane Ian. I have also heard speculation in the media that Ron DeSantis is somehow better than the orange one because he can stand up and do pressers like these during emergencies and not absolutely shit the bed. Don’t be fooled by his calm demeanor, the man is still a fascist.

Just last week, all of us were aghast with horror when Darth DeSantis plumbed the depths of political dirty tricks, and fooled hundreds of immigrants who came here seeking asylum from violence that DeSantis himself would piss himself facing, and flew them all around the country based on a slew of lies. This is the man the media is now chatting up as the strong, calm 2024 contender gently guiding his state through an emergency.



The media loves a republican redemption narrative, especially when they have been craving one for so long because Trump has absolutely no capacity for redemption.



DeSantis is more insidious than Trump because of moments like this, when it seems like he could almost be normal, like he could almost keep the trains running on time. But it’s a lie. He is a wolf in a suit waiting to swallow up anyone who doesn’t agree with him. The political media who disagrees with his sociopathic policy platforms will be the first course. Careful who you get in bed with, political media. Please learn that lesson from 2016!
