This isn’t even the most offensive costume a DeSantis appointee wore. That would go to his first pick for Secretary of State, who thought it would be hilarious to mock Katrina victims. DeSantis said it was “unfortunate” he resigned because it happened waaaay back in the mid-aughties.
x Florida's former Secretary of State, Mike Ertel, resigned after photos of him in Blackface mocking a Hurricane Katrina victim surfaced in 2019.
