I was pleased to learn that your "Commitment to America" plan promises a strong economy, a safe nation, a future built on freedom, and an accountable government.
However, when I consider the words and actions of Republicans like Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and too many others to list here, it becomes clear that the actual Republican plan is to:
When I consider the words and the actions of Democrats, I can't help but acknowledge that they've delivered:
A reduction in the unemployment rate to a half-century low of 3.4%
Nine bipartisan bills to improve Veterans' healthcare
On the promise to reduce the burden of student loan debt for millions of Americans
Strengthened NATO alliances in the face of Russian aggression in Ukraine
economy, get our children back to school safely, quickly deliver COVID-19 vaccinations to millions, and deliver nutrition assistance to food insecure Americans. The American Rescue Plan to stimulate the
The Chips Act to boost domestic research and manufacturing of semiconductors
The first major federal gun safety legislation in decades
and requiring corporations, millionaires, and billionaires to pay their fair share of taxes The Inflation Reduction Act to lower energy, prescription drug, and health care costs while reducing the deficit
The i nfrastructure bill to invest in rebuilding airports, bridges, ports, roads, and rails, while confronting the climate crisis, advancing environmental justice, easing inflationary pressures, increasing access to high-speed internet, expanding access to clean drinking water, strengthening supply chains, creating good-paying union jobs, and improving long-term economic growth
So, Minority Leader McCarthy, before I cast my ballot on November 8, I must ask, "Should I vote for Republicans who claim to plan, or should I vote for Democrats who actually deliver?
