For somebody so smart and educated, she certainly does and says things that absolutely baffle me.

What? Huh? She is facing a primary and she is raising money for it (I receive emails from her) and she says that she and Senator McConnell are friends and that the friendship is rooted in commonalities (she is saying that they have things in common?), that Senator McConnell has a pragmatic approach to legislating (really?), and that he respects the Senate as an institution? What could she be thinking. To be clear (and people who read me probably already know this), it is very possible to be friends with a republican, there are some (not many mind you) some republicans who are good people (I have a hard time seeing a good person voting for Trump, especially in 2020 admittedly), and with some republicans we may have things in common. Although I am a progressive, I don’t believe that only democrats and only progressives have good ideas and I am sure that I am wrong about a great many things. But Senator McConnell is an absolute monster. He could have contained Trump if he had attempted it at the very beginning. Senator McConnell’s first priority after the George W Bush recession was not to help the economy recover from another republican recession, but rather to make President Obama a one term president. His hypocrisy knows no bounds and Dobbs is a result. He could have helped get rid of Trump after the insurrection. He didn’t.
