Good morning, Newdists! If your Newdist self is chilly, grab a blankie, a cup of something warm, and a nice nosh.
Don’t know what to wear? My mum always used to say, “Put something on your head, they’ll think you just came from church.” Will a duck do?
Car styles come and go, some change forever. If you are feeling a bit nostalgic, take a wander for some of the accessories we no longer see . For my money, I still miss wind wings!!
Sad news…. Louise Fletcher has died in France at the age of 88. Her most famous role was as Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. The DH and I always called that character “Nurse Wretched.”
Every state has its own weirdness. And they seem to lend that weirdness to how they name their towns. For example:
Lick Skillet, AL
Rough and Ready, CA
Slaughter Beach, DE
Goofy Ridge, ID
Hell, MI
Surprise, NE (and...surprise! There’s also one in AZ!)
LIzard Lick, NC
Pumpkintown, SC (and trust me, it’s got some competition. My personal favourite is Goose Creek!)
