A very picturesque fall in Kansas. [1]

Welcome to the Street Prophets Coffee Hour, the place where politics meets up with, and sometimes crashes into, religion, poetry, art, photography, history, and life. Come sit, have a cuppa and a cookie (or three), and join us.
We’re officially into fall now, although you wouldn’t have known it yesterday, when temperatures were still in the 90s. But days are shorter, nights are cooler (even if the days aren’t), and the leaves on the trees look a little thinned out. My vegetable garden folded up earlier than usual this year. But, unlike last year, I have a good crop of black walnuts and the oak trees have a good supply of acorns.
Here are some pictures of our new season.
Black-capped chickadee.

Mallard ducks
Female ruby throated hummingbird. They’ll start migrating away within a couple of weeks.
Male ruby throated hummingbird.
Fox squirrel.
Great blue heron at my pond.
Muskrat at my pond. They take the grasses to their dens to eat during the winter. They also take willow branches and stick them into the mud by the entrance. The ones they don’t eat often take root.
Wild turkey.
Coreopsis grows wild near my pond, and near any ditch in the area that holds even a little water.
Yellow composite flowers are plentiful.
Female eastern bluebird eating berries on the Virginia creeper that grows on my house.
Raccoon.
White tailed deer in my pasture.
I found a toad in my garage Friday night, so I left the door open all day Saturday, in case it wanted to leave.
