Loser.

This just out, from Erik Wemple of the Washington Post:

x A verdict in the case of Democracy Partners v. Project Veritas has been handed down, according to Joseph Sandler, an attorney for Democracy Partners. Project Veritas has been found liable on both counts: Unlawful wiretapping and fraudulent misrepresentation. — ErikWemple (@ErikWemple) September 22, 2022

First story I’ve seen on it, via the New York Times:

Jury Rules Against Project Veritas in Lawsuit The conservative group was found to have violated wiretapping laws and fraudulently misrepresented itself to a Democratic consulting firm, to which it was ordered to pay $120,000. WASHINGTON — A jury in a federal civil case on Thursday found that Project Veritas, a conservative group known for its deceptive tactics, had violated wiretapping laws and fraudulently misrepresented itself as part of a lengthy sting operation against Democratic political consultants. The jury awarded the consulting firm, Democracy Partners, $120,000.

More at the link, and Wemple promises more to come from his reporting tomorrow.
