Boy does he look the part. You should be very proud man.
Want to know something funny — I am sure that didn’t change — ask him what they called those hats. Starts with a C and you will kick me off if I say it out loud. And everybody here that was in the service knows what I mean.
I think he is better looking then you. You did good as a father. Do wonder why he went with that MOS — it is a real tough one and you get very little out of it when your done — especially at Benning. It really sucks there. Fucking Georgia sucks. It is a miserable place in the summer.
Ask him about that cap — will crack you up. I guess it is better then Leonard Wood basic— but not really. They both suck now that I think about it. I thought Polk was doing advanced infantry too — but that is OK — that sucks even worse in Louisiana.
You did good man. I remember how weird it felt watching my kid on a parade ground. Sure you felt the same. Never really knew what my parents felt watching me until I watched my kid there. Now you know.
