Don't believe it, do you?

It’s on sale at www.amazon.com/… I kid you not, for $17.76! If you are considering testing your throat muscles to see how well they work if you need to vomit one day, read the following, quoting from the book ad on Amazon, written I presume by Muller himself:

“During the presidency of President Donald Trump, it became evident to me that the prophecies about the Son of Man, as predicted by Jesus in the Bible were, to a significant extent, fulfilled at the hands of Mr Trump. The Bible speaks about two different Christs-or Messiahs. Jesus, the Son of God is the one Christ, whereas the Son of Man is the other. Jesus always referred to the Son of Man in the third person. The greatest distinction or significance between the Son of Man and the Son of God (the Lamb) is their respective positions at the throne of God. . .”

I don’t suggest you read any more of this quote, that way you can keep down your last meal. The main reason I chose to write on this is because religious belief in patriarchal religions (and by no means in all religions or only stemming from religion) is a strong factor in why historically speaking, fascist leaders keep coming out of the woodwork and lead their masses to early graves. Shockingly, Trump’s appeal flows from patriarchal religious factors and their tendency to form individuals, especially but not exclusively men, that are primed to follow authoritarian leaders like him.

The Consequences of Patriarchy

Trump in religious terms is closer to being the anti-Christ than the son of the creator.

Patriarchy, if you’ve had that sort of religious upbringing, can lead to a person adopting beliefs and a world view as told by their patriarchal figures. God is described as an all-knowing supernatural creator, typically in a male image. This god figure is further defined as the supreme authority in the Universe as represented on Earth by your religious leaders, parents and teachers. As such they must be obeyed and followed without question. God’s rules may be tied to wildly varying Biblical interpretations.

Sexual Neurosis on Steroids

This is pretty much what was taught to me in my 12 years of Catholic school. Sex was criticized and forbidden outside of heterosexual marriage, as it was denied that even in pre-puberty, children had a strengthening and developing sexual curiosity. Commit a mortal sin, and it was inferred that masturbation or sex outside of marriage might be one of them, and you were condemned to eternal hell fires. Even sexual thoughts were forbidden. Yes, this kind of upbringing tends to wear off as you grow older, but the guilt for violating these teachings often remains subconsciously effecting many aspects of behavior. It can break a person’s spirit and independence for a lifetime, long after they think they have put the past behind them.

Authoritarian patriarchal upbringing is also possible without any form of religious training depending on parental approaches. The most serious damage to individuals is two-fold: their sexual health can be severely damaged resulting in a man, in more extreme cases, with abusive, sadistic and violent behavior towards women. For women there is tremendous guilt in regard to their sexuality, and they are taught to be submissive both towards men and later in life, their husbands. Most patriarchal religions deny the legitimacy of same sex relations. By the way, the “Heaven Help Us” 9-minute movie link in the photo above is hilarious and spot on, I can attest to. It was modeled after Xaverian H.S. of the 1950s, then St. Michael’s and called St. Basils in the movie, where I spent four years in the 60s.

Perhaps the Most Damaging Consequence of Patriarchy

The second consequence of authoritarian and patriarch religious training is an inability to think for oneself or understand their material class interests and where they lie. This is key in understanding the fascist dilemma. And it especially damages one’s view of class society and how it works and who is works for. The result today is ample numbers of adults that are prime material for MAGA leaders like Trump or DeSantis to exploit.

Joseph Stalin, a prime example of a murderous authoritarian leader.

I have no crystal ball that can convert the MAGA crowd and make them see the light. But in dealing with them it’s important to remember where they come from and what drives them. If you aware of this, you can conceive a way to neutralize and defeat their movements.

The Enemy Within

Alternate socialist, communist, and progressive movements have failed in most cases because they failed to grasp the enemy within the classes they hoped to win over to a better way of life. And in many cases among themselves. We see cases where these movements fell into the hands of authoritarians and reproduced a left-wing version of fascism. The former Soviet Union, Eastern European countries, Cambodia, and today Russia and China, are all under an authoritarian thumb.
