Just so you know, while The NY Times has a must-see video opinion piece on how Republicans are planning to game the system to steal the election, they also devote precious editorial space to this:
Ross Douthat asks in all seriousness: Can Republicans Tax the Rich? It’s a nice piece of speculative fiction from the alternate reality where Douthat resides — but you wouldn’t want to live there.
Bret Stephens says The Border Crisis Could Still Be Biden’s Opportunity — and states quite seriously “It requires us to be much more hardheaded at our borders — like by finishing the wall — so we can be more softhearted toward those trying to cross them.” Conservatives are big on being cruel to be kind — except they only get to the first part of that.
Be thankful the Times rotation doesn’t have David Brooks coming up just yet. I looked at this so you wouldn’t have to — so use the time saved to watch the Times video that IS well worth watching. (It’s only 25 minutes.)
