Ron DeSantis Should Be Prosecuted For Breaking The Law With His Illegal Immigration Scheme [1]

This month, the Republican’s have unleashed a new twist in their sick treatment of migrants, having begun shipping the desperate men, women and children arriving on our southern border, to cities like New York, Washington DC and Chicago instead—basically dumping them on the street.

From the party that gave you locking up migrant children in cages, we now have this, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis flying a planeload of desperate Venezuelans to Martha’s Vineyard, which we can now see plainly as a inhuman political stunt he hatched with authors, recruiting migrants from Texas (not even Florida!) with false promises of safe transport, accommodation and work permits. None of this was provided.

It is unlikely the DOJ will prosecute the Governor, but what he’s engaging in is nothing short of human trafficking. As much was admitted by a sniggering Ted Cruz on Fox recently, More than that, this crime also include a violation of Texas penal code Title 5, section 20, which makes it a felony of unlawful restrain if you transport a person from one place to another with deception.

If we can’t ask Merrick Garland to open a case then the Texas state attorney should—being a governor of Florida is not a defense for breaking the law in Texas.

This issue is much deeper than the intricacies of immigration; it’s about illegal and inhumane treatment of other people. DeSantis, like Trump, is demonstrating, he would quite happily break the law in exchange for political expediency. He should be prosecuted for it.
