Does Mark McKinnon Know Where Los Angeles Is? [1]

I think Mark McKinnon must have set out on MSNBC to prove that being a Republican is bad for the brain. And how did he do that? In response to DeSantis' stunt of lying to migrants and sending them to Martha's Vineyard, McKinnon said DeSantis had a point. McKinnon actually argued that migrants should be sent to cities in blue states such as Los Angeles. Los Angeles? Yes, Los Angeles! And it was not a slip of the tongue because he said it several times. He said, “Send migrants to Los Angeles!” Has this dolt ever seen a map of the American continent. Was his education so deficient that he does not know that California shares its southern border with Mexico. Does he not know that asylum seekers are gathered in Tijuana and are crossing the border into California every day? Is he so ignorant that he does not know that Los Angeles is in Southern California, not far from the Mexican border and Tijuana?
Has McKinnon now joined the MAGA demagogues? Mr. McKinnon argues that the states bordering Mexico should not have to bear entire the burden of a broken immigration policy. That is a debate we can have, but not as a justification for governors DeSantis and Abbot sending asylum seekers to other states with no warning or preparation. One also has to ask whether McKinnon inadvertently destroyed what could have been a valid argument when he said, “send the migrants to Los Angeles”? In years past I would have said that you cannot get away with such an ignorant and absurd comment. I would have said that people will laugh at you if you say such stupid things. But that was before the Republicans started praising displays of ignorance as virtuous gestures aimed at know it all intellectuals. As any autocrat knows, you have keep your followers ignorant and fearful. God knows you don't want to confuse the MAGA fascists with facts so self evident that they can be verified by simply looking at a map! And the last time I looked they still had maps on the internet. But who the hell looks at maps? Probably people who think that geography is worth knowing. But then I am a Democrat, I have to think that facts matter.
