I delight in watching for the nuances of what I have seen many times. One example is a recent Osprey observation on the beach at Discovery Park in Seattle.
I need to learn how to make screen shots zoomable. Downtown Seattle is in the lower middle of the map. The arrow to the left is where the Bucket takes place. The small square nearby is where I grew up from birth until leaving for college. The ‘J’ is where Ms. JG and I now live. the three little circles nearby are Osprey nests, one only 4 blocks away.
At first sighting, the Osprey was headed away from us. Would it return?
It did circle back.
But after raising our hopes at a closer look, it circles away again.
We felt it was teasing us with ‘Do you want to see more?’
It saw a spot for its dining pleasure.
Impressive, but too far away for a good look.
Dissatisfied with the first tree perch, the Osprey flew right overhead looking for another perch.
But, again, heading away from us.
Only to return for the final time, right over our heads.
The most ideal, for us, spot it could have chosen.
The Osprey looked around to see if the coast was clear.
Hmmm. How should I go about eating this fish?
Starting at the head was the decision.
As we ate our lunch, the Osprey took its time eating its lunch.
This is another Osprey at Magnuson Park a few days later. It also had a treat, but I wanted to show the massive legs and talons. No wonder they can carry such large fish.
Satisfied with its meal, this Osprey flew to a tree very close to me. What do you think was on its mind?
What’s ‘same, same — but different’ in your life? Please comment about something that you are experiencing. Other sequences are gratefully accepted but any observation or photos are welcome.
Join the party.
Appy and I continue to invite others to post a sequence in a future Friday Sequence Bucket. We want to keep Fridays as a ‘you can count on it’ Bucket Day.
