Democratic Party of Georgia Launches First Ad Buy in General Election for Secretary of State Race
Six-Figure Ad Buy To Run in Atlanta, Macon, Columbus Markets
As reported in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, today the Democratic Party of Georgia has launched the first general election television ad buy in the Secretary of State’s Race in support of Bee Nguyen’s campaign. The six-figure ad buy, which will run in Atlanta, Macon, and Columbus, highlights Brad Raffensperger’s extreme anti-abortion record and support for an abortion ban with zero exceptions – even in cases of rape, incest, or to save the mother’s life. The ad directs voters to TheRealRaffensperger.com, which houses more information on Brad Raffensperger’s problematic record which is out of step with Georgians.

TRANSCRIPT:
You may think you know Brad Raffensperger, but take a look at this…
Do you believe abortion should be illegal? Yes.
Do you believe in an exception to prevent the death of the mother? No.
In cases of rape? No.
In cases of incest? No.
Raffensperger said he wants to outlaw abortion with no exceptions.
You may think you know Brad Raffensperger.
But you don’t know the whole story.

With polls showing Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger up by double digits over his Democratic challenger, state Rep. Bee Nguyen, Democrats want to convince those voters they don’t know the “real Brad Raffensperger.”
But instead of hammering Raffensperger’s work in office, a new ad (yes — more ads!), from the state Democratic Party focuses on the Republican’s position on abortion.
It’s based on a 2016 candidate questionnaire Raffensperger filled out for the Georgia Life Alliance, on which he checked a box to indicate all abortions should be illegal, with no exceptions.
With polling that shows Georgia’s new restrictive abortion law in unpopular with a majority of Georgia voters, Democrats are working to tie the issue to offices up and down the ballot, even the usually voting-and-business focused secretary of state’s race.
