The DoJ told Judge Cannon that national security requires that the FBI be allowed to review some 100 confidential documents that they retrieved from Mar a Lago right now, and that if she continues to order them to not do that, the DoJ will file an appeal tomorrow morning.

The appeal ruling has a strong chance of making Cannon look stupid to even more people.

The relief that the DoJ sought would limit the scope of Cannon’s strange Special Master. It seems like that will be Judge Dearie, proposed by the Trump team and accepted by the DoJ (the two candidates proposed by the DoJ were rejected by Trump, the other Trump candidate was rejected by the DoJ.)

I was expecting news on all this earlier.

Cannon runs a poor ship.

At about 7:10 PM Eastern, Cannon a) named Dearie as Special Master and b) denied the DoJ motion to allow the FBI to investigate the crime.
