Help Me Understand "Soaring Inflation" [1]

CONFUSED

I have reviewed data on inflation. According to this data:

Inflation rate

June 2022 = 9.1%

July, 2022= 8.5%

August 2022= 8.3%

So, why do newspapers say, “Terrible Inflation news”, “Soaring Inflation”, “Inflation through the roof” in August, awful news for Biden?

And why did the stock market get its jockey shorts in uproar?

Could any of you help me? Am I very ignorant of how economics work? If I am, please enlighten me.

I am able to accept reality, I am able to learn. One of the things I love about DK, is that you all have taught me a lot. As a scientist, I am thirsty for knowledge, not just in my field.

So, this inflation thing keeps nagging me.
