Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, Trump and his attorney general, Bill Barr, manipulated the Justice Department to not only protect and cover up for Donald Trump, but to also attack his political enemies.
Then, on the rest of the menu, Amtrak cancelled some long-distance passenger routes in anticipation of a national freight strike; Trump backers are flooding election offices with coordinated records requests in a gambit to disrupt the November election; and, Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan cautioned that courts look political and forfeit legitimacy when they needlessly overturn precedent.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where a Dubai court ruled that a British man suspected of masterminding a $1.7 billion tax scheme cannot be extradited to Denmark to face charges; and, the United Nations accused Taliban authorities of harassing its Afghan female employees.
