It’s truly discouraging that we now must note
it’s getting harder and harder for some people to vote.
At the heart of democracy is the people’s voice
… the right to vote and make a choice.
Though we claim voting is at democracy’s core
that simply isn’t the case anymore.
Targeted voters are being kept away
by targeted barriers being put in their way.
One tactic is to cause all kinds of disruption
by claiming irregularities and even corruption.
Anti democracy politicians are creating so much confusion
that government “of the people” may soon just be an illusion.
Yes, it’s discouraging and so sad to note
Some people are making it harder to vote.
