Hi everyone, how was your weekend?

I had a pretty good one. The heat wave eased off a little and it was lovely to spend the weekend outdoors, coming out from behind my desk at work. I walked in the park, I sat in a college baseball field and listened to a fabulous concert, I walked around my friend's neighborhood, I sat in another park watching locally produced movies and eating popcorn and drinking wine, I walked at the beach, I sat with my pals outside a neighborhood pub and drank sangria listening to recorded jazz, the Giants won a couple games.... I love this city.

The Dahlia Dell in GG Park was looking good and packed with oglers, the flowers so showy and abundant, though they probably hit their prime a week ago. Here's another shot.

I had the good fortune to see Michael Franti performing in what turned out to be an intimate concert Saturday. There's not anybody else I can think of who can be so almost relentlessly upbeat and not make me wanna puke actually. He's just lovely and his band is great. He's local, and used to play around SF regularly, though of course with covid not so much lately. So this was a special treat.
