I wish I had a dollar for every complaint I have heard about messaging by the Democratic Party. Quit complaining and do something. That is what “Rob in Vermont” does here on Daily Kos and he has been doing it for a few years now.

To me, Rob exemplifies the kind of foot soldier we need a lot more of. Rob has discovered what he likes to, he focuses on that and he does it quite well.

So many times working on campaigns I observe volunteers spinning their wheels and being very busy but are they going anywhere or moving us forward?

I have a magnetic bumper sticker that I got from Rob four years ago. Why magnetic? I can put it on the car and take it off when I need to.

Why do I need to take it off you ask? I live in a totally red county. In some hollers I can actually get shot at if someone sees my Democratic party bumper sticker. So, to protect my car and my life, I sometimes take the magnetic bumper sticker off.

I used to live in Vermont where Rob lives. And let me tell you, Rob hails from Burlington Vermont, home of Bernie Sanders. A city with renewable energy. If you have never visited Vermont, I encourage you to do so. In Vermont you can witness first hand how democracy is supposed to work.

Naturally, it’s a little easier in Vermont with a population of 624,000 compared to the MILLIONS in California. While living in Vermont, I ran into Bernie Sanders, Howard Dean, and Peter Welch many many times.
