Yes, I confess, I read the Daily Mail. Yes, the title of this is both clickbait and snark.
Not often do I read it, but……...it’s really good for pictures of events and British Royal Family news. I’ve never commented on any of their stores, but I really want to today. So, to keep myself from doing that, I’m writing this here.
Meghan Markle was asked not to go to the Queen’s deathbed vigil by someone. The new King, Charles, maybe? The title of the article is,
Charles 'told Prince Harry NOT to bring Meghan to Balmoral to see dying Queen': Inside the half-hour of frantic discussions triggered when 'incredulous' aides heard via media that Sussexes were BOTH coming before 'clarification' Duke would travel alone
The part I really really want to mention is below --
Meanwhile The Telegraph reported that Harry was not initially summoned when senior royals made their way up to Balmoral, like his brother Prince William was, due to constitutional reasons. A royal insider also said that 'it's quite hard to spend too much time with someone you know is about to publish a tell-all book about you.' Another added: 'I think the general reaction to Harry and Meghan's behaviour has been one of incredulity to be honest.'
Am I the only person who finds it just a tad hypocritical to have someone put the statement out that, “'it's quite hard to spend too much time with someone you know is about to publish a tell-all book about you.'” without a hint of irony?
Hopefully that tell-all book will list these “royal insiders” (do they exist, or does the Daily Mail just ask each other what they think?) and are the royal families’ staff on the Daily Mail payroll?
Another question is whether the Queen was the instigator for the “royal insiders” snarking about her family to the Daily Mail, or did she restrain the nastiness and now the gloves are off? Time will tell.
