Russia- who's going to purge who? [1]

Besides things moving very quickly in Ukraine, it sounds like things are quite possibly moving toward a breaking point in Russia. Milbloggers are openly denigrating the performance of Russian armed forces and Russian leadership. There are reports that Putin is being confronted on conference calls about the conduct of the “special military operation” and his decision to undertake it. Even Russian television propagandists are unable to avoid the truth of how bad things are going for Russia.
So who’s going to purge who? Putin can’t afford to have open dissent in the ranks. More rational thinkers (especially in the armed forces) know that all this trouble is due to the misguided and delusional aspirations of one man— Putin.
Who’s got the upper hand? Putin no doubt has the authority to replace any officers and/or cabinet members he wants. As long as anybody obeys his orders. And I’m sure he can find replacements for all of them. But I think the generals and some dissenting politicians would find enough support that they could depose Putin if they would decide to act.
The time for that decision could be rapidly approaching. Who survives?
