Good News — MI Supreme Court overrules GOP hacks; abortion rights and voting rights back on ballot [1]

I fear that most of the article is beyond a pay wall but in case you weren’t familiar with this outrageous attempt at stifling democracy, 2 GOP members on the Michigan Board of canvassers had voted to block 2 ballot initiatives from being on the ballot this fall, despite the fact that they had each secured tens or hundreds of thousands more signatures than required and, in the case of the abortion rights initiative, more signatures than any initiative had ever gotten in Michigan history.
The GOP reason for blocking these initiatives was apparently that spacing on the wording for one or both of these initiatives as they appeared wasn’t perfect.
Thankfully, the MI Supreme Court treated that “argument” with the contempt that it richly deserved. On to November — and a ballot with two initiatives which should only help increase Democratic turnout.
