For starters, I would like to use Labor Day as an opportunity to discuss the state of workers rights in my home commonwealth. Both my district and where I am in University fall under right-to-work laws that screw workers out of job and/or income security. I am hopeful from seeing corporations like Starbucks and Trader Joes raise hell on their corporate managers, and I hope that this begins a stronger wave in favor of more workers bargaining rights.
x I was fired from my job without warning or notice 2 days before I decided I was going to run. I was super super embarrassed by it at first (new college job secured btw). On a much lighter note, my campaign was spotlighted in an article from the Virginian-Pilot! I was beyond excited to check my computer this afternoon and see that an article was released under my name. Although they mistakenly note below that I will be challenging sitting Delegate Convirs-Fowler in a primary, the rest of the article comes off complimentary and I hope sticks with the readers in my district. To have my name out there in more of an official capacity will hopefully embolden younger readers to follow along and notice how easy getting into the political space can be.

The final exciting event from this weekend is the release of my campaigns website! I have been meeting on FaceTime for hours with my friends and my team to push out the first version of our site. I am excited to have my own platform people can go to for centralized information about me and why I am running. I am running to help out Elaine Luria in VA-02 more than I could even as a field intern. I am ready to take some of the weight off of her shoulders for these next few months in regards to getting out the vote in our area (VA 98).
For the first time I am excited to share a link to both my ActBlue and my Campaign Website! Join me in keeping Virginia Beach blue federally and statewide!
