GOP Disarray: Trump lashes out at Fox News for pushing Democrats' agenda; labels Barr, Rove RINOs [1]

Mar-a-Lagate is causing Maga Republican cult leader Donald Trump to become unhinged. He’s now accusing Fox News of pushing the Democrats’ agenda. That’s because the network had the temerity to air interviews with Karl Rove and William Barr whom Trump branded as Republicans In Name Only for defendingd the Justice Department’s search of Trump’s Florida estate.

And Trump even gave a thumbs-up to Fox’s cable TV news rival CNN. The defeated former guy said if CNN adopted a conservative approach, he would support the network that has long been a target of his wrath.

Trump’s uncharacteristic praise of CNN comes as the cable TV news network appears to be trying to position itself as more ideologically neutral.

Brian Stelter, who covered media on his show “Reliable Sources,” and White House correspondent John Harwood — both of whom were openly criticial of Trump’s MAGA movement as a threat to democracy — are no longer on CNN. Today’s Abbreviated Pundit Roundup linked to several stories about the “Foxification of CNN” since it was acquired by Warner Bros. Discovery.

It’s the world turned upside down.

On Sunday, Trump slammed Fox News in a post on his Truth Social platform:

Wow! Fox News is really pushing the Democrats and the Democrat agenda. Gets worse every single day. So many Dems interviewed with only softball questions, then Republican counterparts get creamed. RINO Karl Rove is unwatchable, very negative, and on all the time - Has a big record of losing! Not an easy place to be as a Republican, especially with all of the “pervert” purchased ads. If “low ratings” CNN ever went Conservative, they would be an absolute gold mine, and I would help them to do so!

Rove is now a Fox News contributor. He served as a senior adviser and deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush.

In recent appearances on Fox News, Rove has said there was no reason for Trump to have taken documents that weren’t his to Mar-a-Lago and then fail to comply with a subpoena to return them.

“Why he was holding on to these materials when he had no legal authority to do so under the Presidential Records Act is beyond me,” Rove said during an appearance on Aug. 26. That was the same day that a federal magistrate judge approved the release of a redacted affidavit used to convince him to approve a search warrant for Mar-a-Lago.

Also joining the list of newly minted RINOS was William Barr, who as attorney general bent over backwards to help Trump by distorting the findings of the Mueller report on Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential campaign, Barr also helped Roger Stone and Michael Flynn evade accountability for their crimes.

Barr is a master of covering up scandals that could be harmful to the Republican Party. He did this as attorney general with the Iran-Contra probe during President George H.W. Bush’s administration.

But apparently after Trump began spreading the Big Lie about the rigged 2020 presidential election, Barr has decided that Trump is the bigger threat to the Republican brand. He stepped down as attorney general in December 2020. His videotaped testimony to the House Jan. 6 select committee was particularly damaging to Trump as he debunked claims that there was massive voter fraud.

DK staffer Walter Einenkel detailed Barr’s defense of the Mar-a-Lago search in a diary on Friday titled: `Such an abuse’: Bill Barr delivers obvious facts to Fox News about Mar-a-Lago stash of documents.

Barr told his Fox News hosts:

"People say the search was unprecedented. Well, it’s also unprecedented for a president to take classified information and put them in a county club. How long is the government going to try to get that back, you know? They jawbone for a year. They were deceived on the voluntary actions taken. They then went and got a subpoena. They were deceived on that—they feel. And the records are starting to show that they were being jerked around."

Well that was enough for Barr to join the ranks of RINOs in Trump’s Magaverse.
