Lindsey Graham’s “Riot” Threat Is Actually A Threat To Overthrow Democracy [1]

What Lindsey Graham is threatening a repeat of.

As many of us here on Daily Kos have heard by now, Lindsey Graham, aka Graham the Sham, said to Trey Gowdy at Fox Propaganda Channel that there would be “riots” in the streets if Donald Trump is indicted for having the classified documents that were found at Mar-A-Lago. Here’s video in case anyone here on Daily Kos has not heard of the threats.

But the real subject of this diary is that I find Graham’s threat to be not of a riot, but of something worse: the overthrowing of democracy.

I’ve already written about a scene in the live-action “Beauty And The Beast” remake from the Walt Disney Company that shows a demagogue, despite efforts by a member of the Princess franchise, inciting something similar to what happened on January 6. I’ve also written about footage of January 6 making it into the “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” pilot episode as part of a history lesson from a Starfleet captain representing the United Federation of Planets.

I’ve already written about finding right-wing media unworthy of interviewing a Disney Princess character or a Federation representative. Any lawyer who threatens violence on Donald Trump’s behalf is not worthy of representing either a Disney Princess or the Federation in judicial proceedings, and certainly not worthy of representing any Starfleet officer serving aboard any Federation starship named “Enterprise” with an NCC-1701 registry. But then again, Disney and Star Trek are probably “woke” to Graham the Sham. After the violent racist insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, any and all threats of violence on Donald Trump’s behalf need to be taken as threats to overthrow democracy. Full stop.
