I am again with Our President Biden [1]

I did enjoy Biden’s speech. He has been of course bashed by the right. He is right about the danger of the extremist right. We have been concerned about that for a long time since Trump came to power. The evidence that the extremist on the right want fascism, mainly by the “Christian Nationalists” has been there for several years and we have seen more. I do not want to repeat what we already know. Gerrymandering, the “big lie” about elections, etc., etc.

Biden has been criticized because “He is partisan in his speech, and He insulted 75 million by calling them Nazis. He did not. He was very clear that it is the ultra MAGA lead by Trump that is trying to destroy our democracy.

Yes, Biden is a political animal. Why not? But there is politics and politics. He did not try to aggrandize himself like Trump does. Biden is not and never will be malignant narcissist nor a grifter, nor indecent. He is a good human being trying to save “The soul of America”. Can he do that? Maybe, but it is very complicated. A country is composed of many souls (I am agnostic, so I do not know if there is a soul, maybe a spirit). Some want to impose their religious beliefs on others. Some want for women to be house slaves. Some want to teach only the F..Bible in schools and not science or mathematics or history.

So, this is very complicated at this point. I would rather call it “The democratic spirit of America”.

Also, I am originally from Costa Rica. When I was a kid, America was the whole continent from Canada to the southern tip of Argentina. By saying that The USA is America is like erasing the rest of the continent. But that is not that important. Just geographical note.

All and all, I am with our President. He said what he needed to say, he knew he would get clobbered by the right, but he did it anyway. He is no wall flower, and the right is pissed. If the glove fits, wear it.
