A tough thing to recommend,but it must be recommended. [1]

I'm going to make a recommendation here. It's not an easy one for me to make, and it will offend some people. Hell, it might bet me banned from posting here again, I've heard this site has a low bar and hair trigger on that sort of thing.

But so be it. I see a real problem here and on the left as a whole that needs addressing, and if I get silenced for trying to address it, at least I tried.

Basically, way to many people dismiss the radical right's threats of violence and forcible takeover of America. People here on DK seem to laugh it off, making jokes about Linseed Grahamcracker's threats of “riots in the streets” if Txxxx is arrested, etc.

And I know that the popular meme is to joke about “meal team 6” and “Gravy seals” while showing pictures of what appear to be some new species of whale that wears camouflage in preparation for an invasion of the surface world.

But guys, seriously, there is a real danger here, and not all the people who may well be ready, willing and able to take violent action look like a flight of stairs might be the toughest enemy they might actually ever face.

A lot of these people see themselves as at war with, well, everyone else, and basically if one side decides it's going to start a war, you have to deal with it.

Speaking as an old school wargamer, I know a great military truism has always been “Know your enemy.” The man known commonly as Sun Tzu codified that in his legendary “The art of war” text. To be honest, I don't think enough of the progressive left knows just what their enemy, the fascist right, is really like, and I'm going to try to redress that.

There is a book, a horrible, vile, disgusting and absolutely pure evil book that is literally the holy bible of the fascist right. People who know this book have looked into the very heart of the evil that runs the fascist right and know the extreme danger is poses. I am not going to recommend you actually read the book, and I have not, but I am going to urge people to, as hard and revolting as it will be for many, to at least study it.

The book is the legendary “The Turner Diaries”.

If you don't know this book, you don't know the fascist right, and you don't know your enemy.

This book it so utterly evil that reading it could traumatize some people, it will at least shock, horrify, sicken, enrage and disgust you if you have a shred of humanity or decency anywhere in you.

The turner diaries was the book that inspired Timmy McVeigh to bomb the federal building in Oklahoma, murdering 168 people, inlcuding children at a daycare center, and maiming many others.

Fortunately, you don't have to read TTD to know it, there are many people who have suffered the odious and possibly traumatic task of reading this horror and have worked to summarize it for the education of others, and their efforts should be lauded.

There are several summaries of it, one is a fairly witty video by a man who read it so you don’t have to. His examination of it is very useful, but even he doesn't describe the worst part of the book.

I knew one person who read this book and liked it, he was literally a neonazi. Sadly he's now a professor teaching history at a university in South Carolina.

I don't push people to read this book, but I urge people to study it and in doing so come to see the true face of their enemy before their enemy is powerful enough and ready to show it openly.
