Women Vote Invests $2.7 Million Supporting Cheri Beasley in North Carolina [1]

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILY’s List Women Vote announced its first expenditure in North Carolina’s Senate race, highlighting with a television ad that 85% of North Carolinians “Agree,” with Cheri Beasley that abortion should remain legal, while her anti-choice, extremist opponent Ted Budd has advanced policy that would jail doctors for performing the essential medical procedure, with no exceptions. The ad will air for two weeks in six markets across North Carolina as well as on statewide satellite. EMILY’s List President Laphonza Butler remarked on the importance of this investment with the following statement: “At a time when our fundamental freedoms are under attack, EMILY’s List is dedicated to standing with pro-choice champion Cheri Beasley in her North Carolina Senate campaign. Beasley is a battle-tested trailblazer, and we know she has what it takes to make history as North Carolina’s first African American senator, defeating radical, out-of-touch Ted Budd.”
