The (wonderful!) James Gibson Library, Henderson, NV (Henderson shoulda been named Gibsonville)
Checked out a book lately? Forgot to return it?
Likely you received a courtesy notice to return it as late fees climb.
The average library database, all electronic now, keeps track of:
Who, What, When, Where (and for special materials, Why).
Who : You have to have clearance – a library card, identifying yourself.
What : What books are you checking out?
When : When were they checked out, when are they due?
Where : Which library branch were the books checked out of?
Why: Larger Libraries with special collections require “Special” clearance to either review or check out portions of the collection.
These are very basic components of the standard library database. Each of the items listed are the interactive components of any modern library database. In addition, they have a larger portion of the database dedicated to the books themselves. Author, title, how many copies, which copy, Library of Congress number, pages, categories, date acquired, cost, etc, etc. And, they have a complete history of everything you have ever checked out. “Yeah, we want that Clancey novel back!”
They simply click on a query to see which books have not been returned on time and send a courtesy note to the person who checked out the overdue item.
I have no direct knowledge of how the U.S. Government actually tracks who has what classified documents, but I guarantee you, as a former database developer, it is probably a bit more rigorous and robust than checking out Robert Heinlein’s “Number of the Beast” from your local library.
I have seen very little coverage or discussion about this portion of the Donald Trump espionage case. Clearly, SOMEBODY had to sign out the hundreds of classified documents subsequently found in his possession. People who operate the Classified Documents database also know that same SOMEBODY didn’t return the documents before the DUE Date, or return them at all. It doesn’t take a genius in SQL (Structure Query Language, thanks, Roger) to click on a pre-set query and find out the details of who took the missing “Top Secret” documents
Maybe it was just a low-level staffer who checked out the docs. But, not many low-level staffers have TOP SECURITY/SCI clearance. This is why people like Jared (I wanna plea deal) Kushner, Devon (Holy Cow) Nunez, Leningrad (that Anna spy in the golf pics was a woman, eew!) Lindsey Graham, Russian Ron Johnson, Jacket Off Jordan, Moscow Mitch and SO MANY others are rapidly changing their underwear.
I think a lot of this has already been reported in the redacted affidavit. Only time will tell. It just seems so freaking OBVIOUS!
What are your thoughts?
