I’d like to highlight the first three of our members on the list, who are in desperate living situations. It’s easy to overlook the needs that haven’t been met and are on the list for several weeks. But don’t dismiss them. These people are barely holding on and it could all collapse any time. Imagine living with this stress. Please do what you can to help these people towards stable housing and a sustainable living situation, whether it’s with
a rec and comment, a kind word, or a donation, however small.
These people are our own. Please do what you can. If helping financially isn’t the right choice for you at this time, you can still help. Tip and rec the diary so it stays visible. Share on social media: Twitter, Facebook, whatever platform you use, to bring the attention of others outside our daily readers. And offer words of encouragement to people who are struggling. It can be scary to be struggling, and it can feel lonely. Let them know we understand and are here to help. Posting pictures of your pets helps in so many ways. Everyone likes pictures of cute pets and that cheers us all. Pictures bring more visitors to the diary, so more chances to connect someone needing help with someone able to give it. And posting in comments, whether with a picture or not, brings attention to the diary. I’ll go first. I’ve had nothing but really, really cute pets. And then there’s Fritz. Fritz followed a student to the school where I worked. He was a puppy, right at six months old. He’d obviously been on the lam for a long time. His leather collar was so ingrown I was afraid we’d have to have it surgically removed. And, as is the case with malnourished puppies, he had ringworm from his nose to his tail and mange from his tail to his nose. Seven weeks with the vet, and he came home looking like this:
This was one hard-headed dog. He was totally resistant to a leash, but I was able to train him to voice commands and hand signals. A dog that temperamental wouldn’t be a good placement in town, but he lived for 13 years on my farm. He was happy; I was happy for him.
Well, yeah, when he came out of the pond after a swim, he always waited until he was right next to me before shaking dry, so we both came inside smelling attractively of pond water.
Your turn. What fur babies live with you?
