Trump's untruthful app rejected from Google Play for no content moderation [1]

Trump’s app wont be able to be downloaded by 44% of all smartphone users because the Google Play store (android) can’t host an app on their store that produces unmitigated hate, lies, and disinformation.

Truth Social, the would-be Twitter competitor created by Trump Media and Technology Group, remains unavailable on the Google Play store. Google said the app lacks effective systems for moderating user-generated content, which violates the store’s terms of service. “On Aug. 19, we notified Truth Social of several violations of standard policies in their current app submission and reiterated that having effective systems for moderating user-generated content is a condition of our terms of service for any app to go live on Google Play,” the tech company, which is owned by Alphabet, told CNBC in a statement Tuesday. Axios first reported the Google statement. The restriction means that Android users, who make up 44% of smartphone users in the U.S., can’t download the app. Google will not let the app go live until the content issues are addressed. Truth Social acknowledged Google’s concerns and said it would work on addressing these issues, according to Axios.

This begs the question, ‘where you at, Apple?’ Are lies and disinformation cool with you? I remember the way web hosts and app stores swiftly kicked Parler to the curb after J6. That was great but pretty reactive. Might be a good idea to get ahead of this one seeing as some in the Republican party are already predicting right wing violence:

We also know that RWNJ wannabe-killer Ricky Schiffer used Trump’s social media network to telegraph what we wanted to do to the FBI (see pic at the top). Maybe it’s time to be proactive, Apple.
