How Would You Explain the Last 3 Years to a Coma Survivor? [1]

This is a real need for me, but not actually for a coma survivor. A person I know has been so caught up with her own medical problems since 2019, that she has not followed current events and has little clue of the current state of the world: politics, climate, disasters, etc. I don’t think she even comprehends what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, but that’s only one of many issues I’d like to inform her of.

Internet browsing is not an option at this time. Ideally, I’d like to send her some magazines that would review the situations for her — things like news magazines year-end issues summarizing notable events that year.

What could I purchase — today — that might bring her up to speed? (Used magazines would be okay, if I can get them.)
