A couple of years back, I posted about the stone stump where once stood a monument to Confederate president Jefferson Davis in New Orleans, and the fun local artists and pranksters were having with the site.

That fun, and some serious expression as well, has continued at the intersection of Canal and what is now Norman C. Francis Parkway. In fact, the spot has become something of a Hyde Park of the plastic arts.

My production pal Robin Chambless and I have been documenting the impromptu exhibitions, and have made a short film about the phenomenon.

For your consideration, may I present Pedestal, a short film about the life, death and afterlife of a Confederate monument.

I would appreciate whatever views, likes, comments, and shares we can get. Thanks.
