I’m not holding my breath over any of the news. And I am really tired of getting begging emails from politicians I’m already donating to. Important races — I’m not going to stop — but I wish they’d take me off their ripe sucker lists.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Was poking around The Guardian more than I usually do and ran across this Readers Reply article. It’s about food.
What drove major societal changes on ancient Crete?
A study on interbreeding between early modern humans and Neanderthals.
Recipes from The Guardian featuring chicken thighs.
They’re doing studies on the paints used for Rembrandt’s Night Watch painting. They’re planning a restoration, and need the information.

Ruby Fever hit my content list at 10:00 PM on Monday. I finished the first read at 2:45 AM.
I spent most of Tuesday on laundry. Not that many loads, but it was the first day my leg had actually hurt in nearly two weeks. I was not moving fast at all.
A package that arrived Wednesday contained something I’d ordered from Hammacher Schlemmer that, the last notice I got about it said was on backorder till mid-September. I’m not seriously complaining, mind; but it would have been nice to have been expecting it when it arrived.
This has not been my most productive week, I must say. Though the Friday installment of Innkeeper confirmed something I had long thought about one of the minor characters in the first book. I know this isn’t my own productivity; but it was something fun to end the week.
I did get something I needed to sign over some family business. I had to correct the spelling of my surname before signing — considering how long I’ve been using it, I would think my relatives would know how it’s spelled by now. Minor annoyance, but a legal matter, so I hope they don’t have to send me a corrected page to sign.
School starts here on Tuesday the 30th. I still don’t know what I will have to be doing about my grandson.

Love you guys!
