Did Florida Governor Ron DeDantis really just say that? Did an elected official entrusted with representing Florida actually say that Dr. Anthony Fauci should be chucked across the Potomac?

Yes. Yes he did.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ramped up his Trump-like attacks on outgoing chief White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci on Wednesday, this time calling for someone to “grab” the 81-year-old infectious disease expert and “chuck him across the Potomac.” During a stop on his “Keep Florida Free Tour,” DeSantis—often seen as a potential 2024 GOP presidential candidate—raged against Fauci for recently defending his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I’m just sick of seeing him! I know he says he’s gonna retire—someone needs to grab that little elf and chuck him across the Potomac,” the governor exclaimed to raucous cheers.

Also of note, emphasis mine:

A man who said he wanted to break every bone in Fauci’s “disgusting elf skull” was recently sentenced to three years in prison.

All over the country Republicans are stoking rage and violence from their extremist supporters. Surely, Florida independents and moderate Republicans don’t approve of this right?

So for the heck of it, I will just post this tidbit below, which seems kind of relevant, although in typical mob boss fashion, he is not saying he will do it, he is saying someone should. It is just an idea, then.

Threatening other officials is a Class D or C felony, usually carrying maximum penalties of 5 or 10 years under 18 U.S.C. § 875, 18 U.S.C. § 876 and other statutes, that is investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

DeSantis however, is just a piler on. Rand Paul, and one of Trump’s Arizona order taker Andy Biggs have plans if they were to reclaim congressional power:

Still, Biggs and some of his Republican cohorts are lathering at the mouth over the possibility of the GOP taking over the House of Representatives in November. In their ongoing effort to hide from the prying eyes of the Jan. 6 committee looking into the attack on the Capitol, politicians like Biggs are hoping to use Fauci as both a scapegoat and a diversion. They promise endless hearings with Fauci as the target. Or, as Biggs put it, “Dr. Fauci is conveniently resigning from his position in December before House Republicans have an opportunity to hold him accountable for destroying our country over these past three years. This guy is a coward.”

However, whatever it is DeSantis hopes to accomplish, it was well over a year ago when his fellow Floridian politiican, Senator Marco Rubio, decided he needed to lead the charge to pursue baseless conspiracy theories and waste the administration’s, and Dr. Fauci’s time.

"Our work to shed light on COVID-19's origins has just begun, but one thing is clear: Dr. Anthony Fauci has repeatedly demonstrated a history of moving goal-posts when it comes to public health, withholding facts that don't conform with his own narrative, and issuing inappropriate personal judgments that distort the truth," Rubio wrote. "During the campaign, Biden said, 'I'll choose science over fiction.' Now is his chance to make good on that promise and fire Dr. Fauci," he added.

There is no evidence to suggest any malfeasance on the part of Dr. Fauci, whatsoever.

In fact let me sum up what appears to be the Republican midterm strategy:

Democrats: We have delievered infrastructure, climate action, student loan relief, an economic recovery, are turning the corner on finally ending the pandemic, reduced prescription costs and ended a seemingly endless war.

Republicans: You suck.

Dr. Fauci and the administration remain unfazed.. Not affected in the slightest.

To his credit Dr. Fauci is a bad-ass, and has no fear of these clowns.

CNN chief White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins asked Fauci Tuesday how much those threats of investigations played a role in his decision to end his decades-long tenure in government. “None at all, Kaitlan. Really none at all, not even a slight amount,” Fauci said. “I have nothing to hide and I could defend everything I’ve done. So that doesn’t faze me or bother me. My decisions of stepping down go back well over a year.”

So the lurching strategy that gyrates between na-na-na-na-na, you suck, look at my tongue, and the toddlerish tantrums designed to instigate rage seem to be doing nothing other than propelling Val Demings and Charlie Crist into a stronger position as we head towards Election Day. Will these tactics work in Florida? Or anywhere? Unlikely. Independents want grown-ups to operate the day-to-day affairs of this nation.

More concerningly to the fascists, is that each day, more Republicans become independents.

So Ron, your sophomoric, belligerent, immature, and dangerous rants do nothing but insult an American hero, and clearly, for all the world to see, makes it clear just how scared of Charlie Crist you are. You fool nobody except for perhaps yourself.
