OK, so I have never written a diary here. I hope I do an OK job of it. This will probably be rather short and not have all the things embedded that I would love to embed. I am not a big social media person and just don’t have a ton of technical chops and experience like the rest of the diarists. In other words, I’m an old gray mare. In the words of Stuart Smalley, “and that’s...OK.”

BTW, THANK YOU to all you who write such informative and important information here!

That said, OMG have you seen the DeSantis “Top Gov” campaign ad where he thinks of himself in the starring role of Maverick?! 🤣🤣🤣

Of course he does. A legend in his own mind.

It’s as bad and cringy as you might expect. Actually, no it’s not. It’s much worse.

In his monotone, boring, nasally, weaselly voice, DeSantis manages to simultaneously make the viewer want to vomit and get ripped 6 pack abs in just 30 seconds from laughing uncontrollably.

Word on the street is that this was his wife’s idea. Evidently, campaign management material she is not.

The responses on Twitter have been, in a word, delicious.

Someone NOT laughing about this is actual former U.S. Navy Pilot Ken Harbaugh, who had some choice words about the new campaign ad:

“This tough guy act is pathetic, especially from someone like Ron DeSantis. This campaign ad from Ron DeSantis is just one more example of a Republican politician appropriating the honor of others because he has none.”

Ouch!

Also, how is that logo NOT copyright infringement?

By the way: This ad is airing OUTSIDE OF FLORIDA. Gee, I wonder why that is...duh.
