Two big lies there:
No, the cost of producing electricity is going down as we switch to less expensive renewables. Consumer rates only go up where politics are in charge, not economics.
No, electric heat pumps are far less expensive to own than gas furnaces and electric air conditioners.
Electric buses are far less expensive to own, but still have higher initial purchase prices. If a school district or city public transit system can’t pay cash, a lease is the best deal. Similarly for electric cars.
EV Tuesday: 80% of Electric Cars are Leased
There are used electric cars going for $10,000. Old electrics have limited range, but are perfectly suitable as commuter cars.
