TEXAS AND FLORIDA BOOK BANS — A POSSIBLE ANSWER TO A TWITTER QUESTION
Every day mass media is reporting more inanities of book bans in Florida and Texas.
Ali Velshi on MSNBC has a banned book club.
MoveOn is offering Banned Book stickers, bookmarks and tote bags. Banned books are a thing.
As you can see above, cookbook author Jamie Schler in herTwitter bio writes that she asks the questions no one else asks. She writes excellent cookbooks and cuisine articles in many magazines. There is even a link in her twitter feed to down load for FREE her ISOLATION BAKING book which she wrote during pandemic lockdown.
She asked one of her tough questions on Twitter and I answered it, and she liked my answer. Here’s her question: “So if they are banning all the classic, important, meaningful books from schools, what books are they having the kids read?” TOUGH QUESTION she really asks the questions no one else asks!
Kids don’t read books that teachers want them to read. Go into any high school and you will see many Bodice Ripping Paperback Romance Books like this one.
What do we know about Texas? the electric grid failure, the 10 day truck slowdown debacle of Gov Abbot at the Texas Border, Uvalde, and on and on. No matter what the GOP does in TEXAS, there are UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES!
So, there will be hundreds more of these paperbacks circulating. Hormones surging, teens acting out scenes in the corridors, reading the juicy parts out loud in the cafeteria and generally practicing what they learn from these books.
HEAD LINE TEXAS: TEEN PREGNANCIES SKYROCKET IN ALL TEXAS HIGH SCHOOLS — NO, IT’S NOT VIDEO GAMES, IT’S BOOKS!
SEPTEMBER 18TH SUNDAY TO MONDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH IS BANNED BOOKS WEEK NATIONWIDE.
I DON’T KNOW ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE, BUT WHERE I LIVE ALL BRANCHES OF MY COUNTY LIBRARY ARE HAVING SPECIAL EVENTS FOR BANNED BOOKS WEEK.
