Yes, that means I now have Covid. I started having issues on Friday with a drip leading to a cough as the phlegm came back up. My temperature spiked on Saturday, going over 101. By the time I realized I had a problem it was too late to get a test that day. I got a PCR at 9 AM Sunday morning, At 12:59 AM? this morning I got a text notifying me I had tested positive.

I have had FOUR vaccinations.

I wear a mask when I go into a supermarket or the pharmacy.

My temperature is now down to 99.5. and my blood oxygen is normal.

I was supposed to go to an administrative retreat for school from midday today to midday Tuesday. I had already withdrawn.

But I am assuming I will have to be isolating and miss not only that, but the start of the school year next week.

Since my symptoms became obvious we have been semi-isolating. But now my wife will have to give up the trip she was going to take with family for about ten days to the Midwest.

What is of greater importance is that we are both considered at high risk. I am 76 with a stent in my aorta, high BP, and having survived a mild stroke in November 2019. She is 65 but with a compromised immune system from a blood cancer. We are both very concerned that she might also get it.

Over the past few days the cats have been especially affectionate to me, as if they knew something was wrong. We have been through this with a previous cat, now over the rainbow bridge — before my wife was diagnosed with her blood cancer he had started to climb up on her and lay across where it turned out the cancer had expressed itself in her body.

I will see about getting Paxlovid since I am considered to be high risk.

Be careful out there, Even with precautions and vaccinations you can still get hit by this.
