The Search Warrant Gambit [1]

I’ve greatly enjoyed the Mate-in-two chess puzzles kindly offered by McGovern78. It reminds me of the word gambit, which in chess often involves intentional loss of a pawn in order to gain greater freedom of movement of pieces. A more extreme gambit, the Halloween Gambit, sacrifices a knight in an ostentatious stratagem of mirrors within mirrors. Nothing so advanced likely machinates at Mar-a-Lago. It’s not 11-dimensional chess: what our universe might be playing, some strings attached. It’s not the 5D chess attributed to Garland. It’s perhaps one and a half D chess, but that’s good enough.

Consider the Truth Social sproing from last night as in the image above.

Why encourage (in all caps) the unsealing? Is it utter foolishness or unfounded gamesmanship? Consider the tutelage received for years from Cohn: Never surrender, don’t ever admit defeat. How might that approach be at play here?

The encouragement of DOJ to unseal (as expressed in that tweet) may amount to this:

A. DOJ unseals. A hubbub ensues. It looks to be devastating for the resident of Mar-a-Lago. (…Let’s not mar our lakes please or they might become swamps….)

B. After some delay—or possibly in an instant—the client of the defense lawyers says wait a minute. That’s not the search warrant that we saw. That’s not the warrant that we have! When we release the real warrant, there will be hell to pay. Recall the name, Truth Social. The very concept of truth has been leveraged to the hilt. Already. Again and again.

C. The DOJ can’t prove that the Mar-a-Lago warrant isn’t different from the one in possession of the recipient.

D. The recipient of the search warrant doesn’t release his copy. Tension brews, outrage expands, the cosmological constant changes perceptibly. Galaxies run away from us at an ever-dizzying pace. Even Andromeda sits on the fence. The early history of our universe becomes rewritten as conflation. We approach a logical singularity where (T = F). Except the meaning of equals has been altered along with T and F. Even Kurt Gödel looks at the sidewalk. (I have no idea what that last bit means.)

The key move: dispute and hide. Don’t reveal. Imply and be blunt. Fabricate, etc. Place politics and law in a superposition. Create a kind of political-legal superposition by analogy to quantum theory. Manifest reality by creating it. [sic]

It’s one and a half D chess. But it works since ‘everybody-else’ is playing in two or more dimensions. That’s the Search Warrant Gambit. The search warrant becomes (fake) “fake news”. Even thinking about it hurts and gets conflational. The actual search warrant is not faked, of course, it’s as real as gravity and glacial runoff. Yet it’s like Archimedes with a lever; the unseen unrevealed un-explicated search warrant provides the place to rest the cognitive lever. Some substantial portion of earth is lifted. It’s a heist. What has been stolen? Who or what has been lifted?

How does a person play 1 1/2D chess? On a Möbius strip. One side becomes the ‘other’. The two sides get confused. It’s all about confusion, hence the ‘encouragement’: accept the gambit, I’ll gain loads of freedom of movement from it. I’ll simply say my copy is different. Fake Warrant. “My people will rally as never before.”

Quite possibly, the resident of Mar-a-Lago has a long endgame, an endgame unplanned, yet unfortunately longer than we might expect. Chess note: it’s atypical to conduct a gambit at the outset of the endgame. But this isn’t two dimensional chess. Subtract half a dimension and the rules become entirely different.

I’d appreciate commentary, refutations, additions, etc.

((Sidebar: Big Bang theory begins with what’s termed (cosmic) inflation, which, among other things, results in the expansion of space at superluminal (faster than light) speeds. Einstein’s relativity isn’t violated, since no matter travels faster than light during inflation. It’s space itself that expands. There are variants of the theory and far more to it (it’s not one theory of inflation; it’s many), but that’s the gist.))
