DEFUND SCOTUS [1]

Defund the Supreme Court! Congress controls the purse strings of the government. While the Supreme Court has a modest budget compared to other government organizations, they still need money to heat and air condition their offices, pay their staff, and pay the justices. Congress can and should show their displeasure with the recent SCOTUS decisions by withholding their funding. This does not change the decisions, but it demonstrates that SCOTUS is not entirely beyond criticism and shows concretely their decisions have consequences. Defunding SCOTUS may serve to dampen future poor decisions that SCOTUS has been hinting (LGBT marriage, contraception, interracial marriage, among others).

Would this country be better off without a functioning SCOTUS? Their recent decisions suggest that more of these same types of decisions would place this country in much worse shape than it is now. Let us teach SCOTUS a lesson that it needs to get into step with the 21st century.
