I am writing this on Sunday afternoon since I will be on the road most of the week. However, as of this writing… the Inflation Reduction Act passed the Senate on a pure party line vote. I am so excited about this and all the other things being accomplished by the Biden Administration and the Democrats in Congress. Notice how I did not say “Congress” only… because the GOP members are useless and only there to take rights and benefits away from citizens instead of helping them.
x The Inflation Reduction Act that this Senate Democratic Majority has passed will endure as one of the defining legislative feats of the 21st century:
It reduces inflation, lowers costs, creates millions of good-paying jobs, and is the boldest climate package in U.S. history. — Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) August 7, 2022

Of course he did because he is a true caring person and a class act:
x Sen. Chris Coons tells @MSNBC that President Biden called to thank the Senate cloakroom staff, who'd been working all night. — Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) August 7, 2022
Now it’s time for the hard work on our part. The GOP has a megaphone with Fox News and all the RWNJ podcasters. They march in lockstep and corral their voters. We, on the other hand, are an extremely diverse party and are not so lucky on the media front. In fact, much of our media that is considered “liberal” friendly bends over backwards trying not to look that way (most likely because the companies are owned by wealthy GOPers).
WE are the saviors of our democracy. We need to work hard to amplify every Democrat when they are touting the accomplishments. Retweet on Twitter, write OpEds to local newspapers, etc. Work for a campaign on some of the most competitive races that can help up keep the House. Phone bank or write postcards if you don’t live in that candidates district or state. It’s an ALL HANDS ON DECK time for the next 90 days.
Amplify This!
x Obviously health & tax stuff matter too but on climate/energy side:
-- Up to $7,500 to buy an EV
-- Up to $2K for heat pump
-- 30% off home rooftop solar
-- $840 for electric cooktop (cc: @MattBruenig)
-- Up to $9K for electric panel/home insulation

Another good thread to amplify:
x The Inflation Reduction Act is passed!
This is a big deal: @SenateDems—without a single Republican vote—passed historic changes that will put working Americans first. Here’s how⬇️ — Tammy Duckworth (@SenDuckworth) August 7, 2022
Of course the GOP managed to nix this from the bill. Don’t tell me this party is pro-life!
x Average list price for a unit of insulin:
$6.94 Australia
$7.52 UK
$9.08 France
$11.00 Germany
$12.00 Canada
$14.40 Japan
$98.70 United States
If Republicans have an intellectual argument against cheaper insulin, I’d really love to hear it. — Andrea Junker (@Strandjunker) August 7, 2022
….Although:
x The bill contains provisions to allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices. Dems tried to add an insulin amendment (not in the original language) and the GOP defeated it. The bill still has lowering drug prices in it. — Mueller, She Wrote (@MuellerSheWrote) August 7, 2022
I think so too:
x Biden is the most legislatively successful President since LBJ. — Robert Shrum (@BobShrum) August 7, 2022
Let’s also tout all the other things this administration has managed to push through on the tiniest majority. Things that may not go as far as we want but are sure a start and more than we’d ever get from the GOP. Let’s hold the media’s feet to the fire and keep Congress!
x In the last 12 days, the Senate has passed the CHIPS and Science Act, the PACT Act, accepted Finland and Sweden into NATO, and now the Inflation Reduction Act.
That's a productive as hell 2 years for most Senates. — What Biden Has Done (@What46HasDone) August 7, 2022
x - American Rescue Plan
- Bipartisan Infrastructure
- Afghanistan withdraw
- Killed al-Agal & al-Zawhri
- Back to pre-pandemic employment
- 3.5% unemployment
- Most Judges confirmed
- First Black Woman on SCOTUS
- Inflation Reduction Act
Not bad for a guy with a 39% approval. — Angry Staffer 🌻 (@Angry_Staffer) August 7, 2022
OK… all for now. Chat away. I will be driving so I might only be able to dip in when I stop for gas. Enjoy the wins and keep fighting!
