They just can’t seem to quit him.

Average Americans are generally not subscribers to conspiracy theories. The benefits of short term outrage being stoked in the base by Republicans regarding the search of Trump’s home is a poor strategy because the truth will come out eventually.

FBI Director Wray is a Republican appointed by Trump and Garland has a non-partisan reputation and a career that is the very standard for Judicial prudence. This is not a good look for what’s left of the Republican brand. Again the ideological silo they operate in, buoyed by right wing media outlets, does not benefit them. Instead it serves as further validation of the narrative that Republicans haven’t learned much following the events of January 6th and remain the party of Trump. The enabling of Trump’s political prospects further delays a reconstitution of the Republican Party as representative of a pro Democracy organization that recognizes reality over conspiracy.
