I got home, got the dogs dry, and that’s when the power went out. It was 1pm. I got out my battery powered light and my headlamp. I was all set, except that it was daytime, and I didn’t need any extra light yet.

I got a book, sat on the couch and read. Every once in a while, I would get an idea to get up and do things, like, run the dishwasher or start a load of laundry. At no time did I think to get up and sweep the floor with a broom, dust, sort papers or clean out drawers. No, I just read on. At 7pm, I heard the beep of my oven clock, and the power was back on.

I made it to the PO today to pick up my packages and it looked like a tornado had come through, there were trees down everywhere.

In other news I am probably the last to discover Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, but OMG! An internet star who now has a movie and a book!

The movie gets 4 stars from Ebert and a great review...

The crystal-clear precision of the stop-motion animation in "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" seamlessly melds with the live-action material and is fascinating to behold.

“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" is about so much more than an internet sensation gone viral. It places a glaring spotlight on the pros and cons of sharing your life online, while representing caregivers who have lost loved ones unexpectedly and find themselves wondering how life will continue to flourish without them. Slate and Camp get even deeper when addressing the manner and lengths a child will go to protect themselves when not feeling safe in their own home.

"Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" will make your spirit soar and remind you to enjoy those you love, inhale a bit of fresh air, and respect the earth every second as though it were your very first time. It's a reminder to embrace all the stages of grief and see our dark chapters as changes that somehow make us better on the other side.
