Biden got Mexico to pay for the wall. Why is nobody talking about this? [1]

Trump never got Mexico to pay for the wall. But guess who did? I’ll give you a hint. It starts with the letters “Joe Biden”. Not a physical wall, which was never going to work anyway, but “smart” wall using advanced technology.

Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador agreed to spend $1.5 billion over the next two years to improve “smart” border technology during meetings Tuesday with President Joe Biden — a move the White House says shows neighborly cooperation succeeding where Trump administration vows to wall off the border and have Mexico pay for it could not.

Trump based his entire 2016 campaign around this promise to build a wall that Mexico would pay for. This is the promise that got him into the White House. He repeated it ad nauseum at every campaign rally. All of his supporters hailed him because of this promise. He shut down the government over the wall.

And yet it was Joe Biden who succeeded where Trump failed. This is a major own. Democrats should be making a big deal out of this. But few people know about it as far as I can tell. You know that, if this were the other way around, Republicans would be crowing about it and taunting Biden about it nonstop forever. We aren’t we?

The Republicans have been trying to make #BidenBorderCrisis a thing since just about Day One of his presidency. This acheivement blunts that line of attack. With this deal, Joe Biden has accomplished more to stop illegal immigration than Trump ever did, and he did it without putting children in cages.

I hate to have to use the “m” word, but — messaging! We’ve got a huge win here on one of the major issues Republicans love to keep harping on. Let’s make sure people know Joe Biden, not Donald Trump and not Republicans, is the one who is taking concrete action to secure the border. And he got Mexico to pay for it.
