Is the RNC paying Trump’s Lawyers for the discussions with DOJ over the investigation into Jan. 6? [1]

Who is paying Trump’s lawyers?

CNN is reporting that Trump’s legal team are in discussion with the DOJ concerning the January 6, 2021 investigation. Of course, this would include the possibility of a failed attempt to overthrow the government.

My question is whether it is proper for the RNC, an arm of the Republican Party, to be paying to defend an individual who may be indicted for insurrection against the United States?
