NewsNation thinking of hiring sexual harasser Bill O'Reilly [1]

By now, most of you have seen that DeShaun Watson of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns got a shockingly lenient six-game suspension for multiple cases of sexual misconduct. The decision was handed down by retired federal judge Sue Robinson, who was jointly appointed by the NFL and the NFL Players Association to oversee the disciplinary hearing. While the NFL hasn’t indicated whether it will appeal, describing this as a slap on the wrist after he settled with all but one of his 24 accusers—a tacit admission of wrongdoing—is being kind to it.

Well, another insult to survivors of sexual assault may be coming down the pike. The Daily Beast reports that NewsNation, the fledgling cable news network that replaced WGN America last spring, is in talks to hire Bill O’Reilly. Yes, the same Bill O’Reilly who was pushed out of Fox News after it emerged that he and the fair and balanced network had coughed up $13 million in settlements over the years to women who accused O’Reilly of harassing them.

This comes on the heels of Chris Cuomo announcing that he’s joining NewsNation in the fall after being fired from CNN for using his power as a journalist to dig up dirt on those accusing his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, of sexually harassing them. One can be pardoned for wondering if NewsNation is deliberately trying to offend as many people as possible.
