Yesterday I was talking to a friend on the phone, answering some texts and shopping for...buttons of all things. I looked up and the pups ran by with a, now empty, cat food bowl they had gotten off the counter, licked clean, and were taking to the living room.

I got up and took it away from them but a few minutes later they ran in with one of their own food bowls in their mouths. Why? I don’t know, it was empty and there were at least 20 bones and 12 assorted dog toys to chew on the floor.

Silmiin a beautiful boy who brought a dead rabbit to the door, yum.

It’s possible that I am too old to keep up with these boys. Or that everything they do is just so damn cute that I let them slide. Normally to keep a dog off a counter I would make sure there is nothing up there so they would never have success on their foraging trips and would give up.

I’ve been pretty down for a while now though and cleaning up has been overwhelming me for, oh... days weeks months. I kept my Dalmatian from getting on the counters by keeping the drawers open just a bit. She didn’t like the jangle sound they made when she hit them on her way up and quickly got down.

Cooper cuddling with El Lel. Cooper loves El Lel. El Lel is not so sure.

There are trainers who set mousetraps and line the edge of the counters with them. Yeah, no. I wouldn’t do that, not even if they were upside down and only flew up in the air and scared the bejeezus out of the pups. I guess I’ll clean the counters, or just continue to be amused by their antics. They would just come up with something else anyway.

Playing quietly, a word not often associated with Cooper.
