The GOP = Your Worst Experience With an HOA [1]

Throwing a fit in public because you didn't get your way.
Like many of you I’ve had to deal with an HOA (Home Owner’s Association) throughout my life. Several of them as a matter of fact. If you have a good HOA you’ll hardly notice them, but if they’re not a good one you run into their incompetence far too often. If you were to compare our political parties to HOAs, the Democrats are the ones who try to do their job without causing you any discomfort and the Republicans/GOP are the HOA with every petty personality in the neighborhood exorcising every petty power they can.
The GOP hates to govern, they prefer to contract out all of their responsibilities to some third party just like that HOA Board (who ran for their position, by the way) who hire a property management company to manage what the board was elected to do. Your HOA has policies and guidelines everyone has agreed to abide, unless of course you’re a board member or a buddy with a board member. If you’re a board member or a buddy you get exemptions that the other homeowners have to comply. When you look at the GOP through the HOA Board, they pretty much operate the same. The GOP hates employees, so do most HOA Boards.
If you’ve ever had to take on an HOA and beat them because they were legally wrong, be prepared to be assaulted. They’ll come at you with every petty violation they can find. The GOP operates the same. Beat them on one thing and they’ll strike at something else (no matter who it hurts) just to get back at you. If you want to take them on, document, document, document. Or move.
As a country we don’t really have the luxury to physically move away from the GOP, so we have to fight. So we still have to document, document, document. Demonstrate to the country where the GOP fails everyone.
Oh, and by the way, just like with your neighbors and your HOA, one third of them don’t show up at a board meeting and where voting could really change things, but they’re too busy with their lives to get involved. About 1/3 of our voting age population don’t vote because they claim they’re too busy for politics (until it affects them personally).
Politics are a part of our lives whether you’re busy or not, so pay attention and get involved because it does make a difference. Whether it’s your HOA, the County Board, City Board/Commissioners, School Board, State Legislature, Congressperson, Senator, Governor or President, they all make a difference in your daily lives. So do you want petty busybody people controlling the instrument of power around you? Or do you want responsible people handling the reins so you don’t have to worry about what some crazy person might do? Just like driving a car, put it in D to move forward and R for reverse. Sure your still moving in reverse, but how safe is it to go everywhere in reverse?
